Screen Sculpture is a small web company based out of St. Paul Minnesota, specializing in website design, development and graphical interfaces.
Our first website!
A Brief History
We began as a word-of-mouth local company (and most of our current business comes this way) building small websites for small companies. We drew from skillsets present in our daily lives, mainly designing event posters and promo materials. Decades of public exposure, particularly in the Arts and Music communities, is how our professional network and client base began.
Foreseeing the web as a powerful tool, we began to educate ourselves to the ways and means of web design. We found that creativity, inventiveness, enthusiasm and effective writing skills were setting us apart from other web designers.
Screen Sculpture and affiliates are currently capable of producing a wide array of web and multimedia services from simple site design and branding, to audio and video recording, professional photography and print media.
Modern thinking, modern design
Back in 2006, we abandoned table design as a method of framing websites, in light of the versitlity of CSS coding. We could see that this practice had a future; and we were right.
As the technologies and consumer needs progressed, so did our education. We were one of the first local companies to offer CSS site coding practice, understanding the future it would have on the web.
From simple CSS text layouts, came the introduction of AJAX, combining CSS with Javascript and other languages, to create lightweight, stunning design functions for powerful content presentation ... and puposely used throughout this website for demonstrative purpose!
These new technologies are also the basis of mobile web design and smart phone applications.
